This page was checked on 17 October 2026 against OFPlayer for Windows 26.0.6, released on 16 October 2026.
Which version are you using?
| Version | What it is |
|---|---|
| OFPlayer for Windows | The native Windows app (WinUI 3) for Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit. These guides are written for it |
| OFPlayer for Android | Android 12 or later. Pairs with the Windows app for streaming, handoff and Listen Together |
| Web player | Open /app in a browser; it uses the browser’s file access and site storage |
| Older Tauri desktop app | The earlier desktop app. Buttons and settings differ from the current Windows app, and the download page no longer offers it |
Get the installer from the download page and check the version, publish date and SHA256 checksum shown there. You can also install OFPlayer from the Microsoft Store.
What the Windows app does today
- Import files, scan folders, libraries and playlists, search and format filters.
- An album artwork grid, and artist → album → track browsing.
- The play queue, playback modes, output devices and system media controls.
- Lyrics (embedded tags or .lrc, .ttml and .txt files), the immersive view and the floating Lyric Capsule.
- WebDAV, Subsonic (Navidrome) and FTP sources: connection tests, browsing and playback.
- LAN streaming and Handoff with the Android app (needs Pro or a Hub subscription).
- Listen Together, in testing.
- First-run guidance, listening stats, storage analysis, diagnostics and update checks.
The free version includes 2 libraries and 10 playlists; Pro and the Hub subscription remove the limit.
Updates
Open Settings → About and choose Check for updates. A copy installed from the website downloads and verifies the new installer, then installs it once you confirm; your libraries and settings are kept. When an automatic install is not available, it points you to the website instead. A copy installed from the Microsoft Store is updated by the Store.
Known limits
| Item | Today |
|---|---|
| Large remote libraries | Up to 5,000 tracks per remote list; not unlimited paging |
| FTP | Windows app only |
| Listen Together | In testing; two devices per session |
Data is not merged automatically
The Windows app, the older Tauri app and the web player each keep their own data. If your library is missing after switching versions, check where the data lives first. Do not reset the old data, and do not let several apps write to the same database.
For local development and isolated runs, see Build and run locally.
